元件的<u>相對負荷量</u>(Prim
equivalence)是SL裡用相當於傳統的幾何元件來計算網面所帶來的負擔的機制.網面物體和所有有異於基本幾何元件的物理型態的物體都會用『相對
負荷量』來度量對於地段或是該地圖的負荷.也就是說,一個擁有42相對負荷量的網面物體會等同於42個傳統幾何元件連結而成的物體. 運用這種機制可以
確保瀏覽器端或伺服器端的資源分配在網面與傳統幾何元件中取得平衡.<br />
以利於創作家繼續創作出具有效能經濟效應的物體(prim-efficient objects).即使當他們使用已上傳的網面時也是一樣.<br />
<br />
<b>運作機制</b><br />
<br />
對於每個SL裡的物體,SL會比較三個重要的效能表現面相:<u>下載負荷</u>,<u>物理負荷</u>,<u>伺服器負荷</u>. 系統會取其中佔最高負荷的面相的值來指定成為該網面的相對負荷量. 一般來說只有被指定好的負荷值可以在瀏覽器中秀出來.要看到物理負荷,必須將DEBUG SETTINGS視窗(<b>Adanced </b>> <b>Show Debug Settings</b>)裡的ShowAdvancedBuilderOption這一項改成<b>TURE</b>.<br />

下載負荷(Downloading
Weight):是量測下載然後顯示該物件需要消耗多少頻寬而計算出來的.越龐大或視覺上越複雜的物體會具有較高的下載負荷.
當你上傳網面的時候,你可以運用『自動產生』或針對不同的細節等級(LOD)上傳不同程度的簡化網面.來降低物體的複雜度.<br />
<br />
物理負荷(Physics
Weight):是量測物體的物理模型的複雜度而計算出來的.你可以藉由上傳模型視窗裡的分析和簡化工具降低物體的物理模型複雜度.
藉由上傳簡化過細節的物理模型,或是藉由在建造工具視窗的Feature標簽那頁選擇不同的物理類型.如選擇Convex
Hull可以降低物理負荷.交通工具必須具有32以下的物理負荷量.但是可以具有較多的下載負荷和伺服器負荷量.<br />
<br />
伺服器負荷(Server Weight):是量測物體對於伺服器資源會有多少衝擊.由許多幾何元件組成的物體,和打開物理屬性的元件還有或是內含了腳本的物體往往會有較高的伺服器負荷.<br />

<b>哪裡可以看到物體的相對負荷量讀數?<br />
<br />
</b>當物體已被rezzed在世界中,你可以透過編輯它而在建造視窗裡看到.在你所選取的物體的元件數目旁邊 ,第三個數值代表著相對負荷量的值.<br />

小弟最近做了一個實驗,發現貼圖的大小也是要依據雕刻的長寬比例來調整最佳的貼圖大小。<br />
<br />
用錯的話,不但沒辦法得到很好的效果,本來清楚的圖片會變成一片模糊。如果用了過大的貼圖不但解析度沒有提昇,也白白耗去玩家下載的時間。<br />

上面這張圖片是小弟作的派龍(飛彈發射架),ABC都是使用同一個雕刻。但是配上不同大小的貼圖,顯示出來的效果也不同。<br />
一般人的觀念是用大張的貼圖應該會比小張的貼圖效果還要清楚, 不過這裡可以看到:C是512x512的貼圖,但B的貼圖是512x256,兩者看起來效果是一樣。這時當然會選擇512x256,因為比C的下載速度還要快一倍。<br />
我試著再將圖片大小降為A的512x128,這時才發現變模糊了。<br />
這個實驗可以知道一個現象:當我的派龍的長寬比大概是3:1,採用512x256的貼圖長寬比是2:1會最理想,當採用512x128也就是長寬比在4:1的時候品質就下降了。<br />

所以說貼圖的長寬比最好要儘量接近雕刻的長寬比,但不要超過它?<br />

這次小弟使用的是長寬比大約8:1的飛機的著陸捕捉勾,貼圖的效果大家可以看一下。<br />
效果最好的還是A這張,1024x128也就是8:1,剛好和雕刻實際尺寸的長寬比接近。<br />
B是512x128也就是4:1,效果稍微比A低一點,但也還算不錯,還比A少了一半的下載時間。<br />
C是512x256,算起來長寬比是2:1,但是長寬比與雕刻物體不匹配的結果,就算是用了比B大張的圖片,也是徒勞。<br />
D的話是長寬弄錯,變成128x512,結果當然是慘。<br />
有人可能會懷疑為甚麼要用長方形貼圖,用正方型的不好嗎?以下E,F兩組就證明給你看:<br />
E是512x512,F是1024x1024,結果自不待說。<br />

所以這個實驗給我們什麼結論呢?再複習一次:<br />

有一天突然接到一個日本人的IM,聊了一下原來這個人是日本熊村(kumashion)的管理人.邀約我到他們的島上租地.本來是沒有計畫要再增加租地的.可是一方面又點想體驗一下在別的地方開店到底是怎樣的情形.於是在看過島主的介紹以後,選了一塊比較小的地,就這樣順水推舟的開了這家店.<br />

熊村應該算是歷史滿久的SIM了,SIM的規劃就如同MagSL標準SIM的那種棋盤式的街道佈局,因為租不起一整個區塊.所以租了半個區塊.隔壁的鄰居是個義大利人,專門賣TinyAV的.這樣每周的租金在350L$,可以放大概117個prims.約384sqm.算是蠻貴的. 但是一般的分租SIM要維持長久大概也非得使用這種將維持費平均分攤到承租人身上的價位了.<br />

不過一試就覺得還實在是不好作耶.<br />
Blender要作這樣的形體實在很麻煩....<br />
所以就先在Rhino裡面將輪廓塑造出來後<br />
再轉到Blender裡面展開成SL的格式....<br />
手續十分繁瑣因此花了兩天:(<br />
